They have a kext thing that can start the displays for sign in. this means the MacBook sometimes displays a code arming that the screen is being viewed - which is a little disturbing. they seem to be using the screen recording entitlement to send the data to the displays. but of course you can’t run the app until you log in.Īnd the driver is using a sort of hack. until you run the app the displays are black. I use it to drive two external 4K displays at 60Hz on the HDMI ports 1920 x 1080 in Retina HiDPI mode or 3840 x 2160 if you like to have a very tiny cursor. it does what it says it the product description. I think anything that says it supports DisplayLink will give you 2 displays at 4K plus the internal macbook display - or the internal and one external 5K. ![]()
